The photography on this site is credited to Daniel
Cilia. Daniel is a Maltese national who, through
international lectures, exhibitions and publications,
has contributed to
putting the Maltese Islands, in particular their cultural
heritage, on the map. In fact, some of the images on
this web site were specifically taken for the Malta
Heritage Guide Book series, published by Heritage
Books Ltd.
Daniel was born in Rabat, Gozo, in 1963, and showed a deep
interest in photography from an early age. He exhibited very
early on in his career at the National Museum of Fine Arts
and was awarded the Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society
of Great Britain. He has held exhibitions in Malta, Italy,
France, the Czech Republic, Canada, Australia and the USA.
His work has been published in several magazines in Europe,
Japan, and the USA. He has masterminded the photographic side
of several prestigious books on cultural treasures of Malta
in conjunction with leading publishers on the Islands. One
of Daniel’s most recent works is Malta, Prehistory
and Temples, in conjunction with the renowned British
Archaeologist and scholar, David H. Trump.
